Gardens are a delicate balancing act between function, looks and maintenance.  As a garden designer, like many who have gone before me, I always look at function before looking at form.  Each plant must earn its place in your garden.  Each plant should provide beauty and practicality. Additionally, there is absolutely no point in picking an amazing garden design, but then not being able to keep it in the style that you have chosen, as you will quickly fall out of of love with it.

Remember, there's no right or wrong choice when it comes to garden styles. The perfect one is the one that makes you smile every time you step outside.
