When you have a compact space, but still need use of the garden, a professional garden designer will maximise the space by creating innovative ideas, even for a balcony garden.
It takes a number of skills to design any garden, but a compact garden design is special because it has to achieve so much with limited space.

Yes, absolutely. We are first and foremost a design studio.
We can prepare all the designs, drawings and documentation and share them with your landscaper.
Should your contractor have any questions before, during or after the build, we can be retained for advice and guidance on the design.
-
Yes, absolutely. For a few plants, we encourage it.
You can either purchase them yourself, using quantities from the list supplied on our planting plans
Another option is to give the list to your landscaper to order from their own supplier.
Our clients use us when they want to secure trade discounts and take away the hassle of purchasing and checking a large quantity of plants. Our suppliers deliver direct to your door.
We also supply quality pots and containers for designs requiring them.

Garden makeover TV programmes show lovely gardens which are unrealistic to achieve for those on a normal or more modest budget.
Taking into account the labour (man hours), the size and volume of large mature plants brought in, and the amount of work for the hard and soft landscaping in just a few days, you wouldn’t see much change from £150,000.
The art of good garden design is to create magic with whatever budget the client has available at the time, whether it’s £1,000 or many thousands more.
Designers will discuss ballpark costs with you during the initial consultation. This helps you to prioritise what is important to you and how much you want to spend.
We will be open with how much things cost, and what is worth investing in.
Spreading your project over time is a good way to manage cashflow.
-
It depends on the nature of the project but as a general rule…
Gardens can be designed at any time of year.
Building the garden can begin in early spring when the weather improves.
It is better to undertake planting when the weather and soil are warming up.
It is a good idea to plan a full garden redesign in autumn and winter, ready to start building or planting as the new spring arrives and weather conditions improve.
For large projects where there is building work for a new house/extension, we recommend you involve My Garden Designer as early as possible.
We create gardens based on the structure and architecture of the property. The sooner the designer sees the plans, the earlier they can start discussing ideas with you.
Waiting for a house to be built or a renovation to be completed, before thinking about the outside can lead to unnecessary delays.
Councils normally ask for landscape designs as part of any new-build home application.

As a brand new company, we decided to design our website to take you on a beautiful journey of inspiration with stunning garden images from around the world to get your imagination going.
Garden designs featured on our website have been included purely for inspiration purposes.
Some of these are public space images, whilst others are the work of many talented designers around the world, to whom we have paid a licence fee to show their work or photography on our website.
Whilst we cannot copy another designer’s work, as designers we are all inspired by others in our own field. We can create you an ‘inspired’ version of any idea you see here, or on Instagram, Pinterest or in magazines.
Our skill at My Garden Designer is to apply your inspiration and turn it into a beautiful garden creation bespoke for your exact plot, needs and lifestyle.
Whether you are inspired by the autumn colours of the Japanese parklands and temples on this page, or the stunning contemporary and luxe garden pages, we at My Garden Designer can create your own version of them.
Most of all we want clients to have fun browsing and enjoy the design process with us.
